It seems that not only was it a personal tragedy, but also a conspiracy of a whole large international network of trafficking and crime Tom is mysteriously disappeared. The search by Alice slowly brings her to the verge of dangerous realities.
All signs point to the fact that Tom is not who he seems to be. And at the end of the shootout, Alice’s suspicions of Alice are justified.
Romantic Reunion. But No Happy Ending
In the finale, Tom apologises. There then follows an emotional scene between the two. The audience is sure that things are all okay.
However, it is at this point that the Vanished Ending gives the largest surprise.
The following day, Alice disappears. Tom finds only a note. Alice is in a taxi across the streets in Marseille, France. The song of Jaakko Eino Kalevi, Macho, is played in the background, and a slight smiling expression is displayed on the face of Alice.
It is a resolution that reflects the fact that she will not be satisfied with fake comfort.
Why did Alice leave Tom?
Executive producer and director Barnaby Thompson stated that a typical romantic resolution was thought of, though it did not seem emotionally accurate.
Alice, according to her, was put in an unacceptable position by Tom. Trust had been broken. In this case, forgiveness and love cannot, on their own, put order back.
The exit of Alice is definitely a painful one, but it was a decision that was made in regard to self-respect and self-determination. She is aware that she is better than that.
Limited Series or Season 2?
Kaley Cuoco has made it clear that Vanished is a limited series, and its plot is completely wrapped up.
Nevertheless, this is a strong final part that leaves the audience puzzled. Will Alice and Tom reunite? Is a Season 2 possible?
